The rector of Masaryk University, Martin Bareš, tested positive for coronavirus

The Rector will be isolated by 12 September.

This was discovered after he was approached by the Regional Public Health Department on Saturday evening, informing him that he was probably in contact with an infected person on Thursday, 27 August. The Rector was immediately tested at his own expense using a PCR test, but the result was positive. He was ordered to be isolated by 12 September.

Masaryk University is currently cooperating with the Regional Hygiene Station to find all people inside and outside the University who have been in contact with the Rector in the past three days.
