At the start of the 261st session of the MU Academic Senate, the members present held a minute of silence for the victims of the invasion of Ukraine, before passing a resolution denouncing the Russian aggression.
The Resolution of the Academic Senate of Masaryk University of 4 April 2022:
The Academic Senate of Masaryk University condemns the invasion of the sovereign territory of Ukraine by the Russian Federation and expresses its solidarity with the citizens of Ukraine and with the members of the academic communities of Ukrainian universities and scientific institutions.
The Academic Senate of Masaryk University welcomes the immediate show of solidarity and offers of assistance made by the University’s management, students and staff.
The Academic Senate of Masaryk University rejects any form of discrimination against members of staff and students based on their nationality or ethnicity, emphasising that the principle of collective guilt has no place in an academic environment.
