The graphics for this year´s competition were created by students of the Faculty of Informatics. The winning design was by two students Sára Veselá and Tereza Meiringerová.
A rector´s holiday has been announced for MUNI DAY. Students and academics can use the time off from classes to attend the event. All other staff members are also welcome to attend and can make arrangements with their department heads.

Start the day with a gentle morning yoga session, then loosen up your body in a Latin American rhythm during a dance lesson, have a baked tortilla for lunch, get your lung capacity measured or test your body's stability on the way, unwind at pétanque in the afternoon and get swept away by DJ sets in the evening. That´s what your programme may look like on Wednesday 14 May when you visit the Bohunice University Campus.

Jogalates and volleyball

Fans of exercise can join in sporting activities from 8 a.m. and choose from a range of individual or group sports. In the movement gym of the Faculty of Sports Studies, Jogalatés, Street Dance, Latino Dance, as well as the current fitness trend of intensive interval training, Total Body Work, await those interested. Circuit training for beginners can be done in the gym for a change. The weightlifting gym invites you to stretch your whole body in self-defence or flying Acro Yoga. Fit Office Yoga classes will focus on strengthening the back, Rollpilates will relieve the body from prolonged sitting and help prevent back pain.

The third MUNI DAY promises fun for the whole day. Sports lessons and some workshops start at 8 am, tours of MU´s professional departments begin an hour later.

The culmination of the sports part of the program will be a floorball derby at 2 p.m. in the Ball Sports Hall in Building E34, pitting a team of five faculties from the city centre together with the Rector's Office against a team of five faculties from the campus and immediate surroundings. The prestigious duel, called CAMPUS vs. CITY, will be accompanied by performances by the MU Majorettes, the university´s FUKS club or intermission competitions.

Tours of laboratories

Those who do not like sports and rather enjoy a quieter morning can visit one of the thematic tours in the Anatomical Museum or in the laboratories of the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Sports Studies. The Simulation Centre of the Faculty of Medicine (SIMU), which is the most modern simulation centre in Central Europe and has equipment similar to a real hospital, will also open its doors to those interested. This year's excursions will also be joined by the Faculty of Science RECETOX Centre, CEITEC and the Transfusion and Tissue Department of the Brno University Hospital, where those interested will see the blood donation sections.

MUNI DAY offers the opportunity to meet employees or students from other faculties and departments at MU.

In addition to sports and educational tours, MUNI DAY has an important cultural and social dimension. Fun activities permeate the entire campus, both inside the buildings and outside. There will be a gastro zone with meat and vegetarian specialties, and you can play ping-pong or pétanque at the outdoor stations just to relax.

Prior registration is required for morning sports, visits to laboratories, centers, and museums. Registration opens on Thursday, April 10 at 3 pm. You can find out all the important information on the website and social media.

In the campus corridor, various university departments will be presenting their stands, you can look forward to MUNI BAZAR or the presentation of Masaryk University libraries. In the afternoon and late evening, concerts by bands and DJs will make the stage more pleasant. Around fifteen student societies will take part in the traditional Society Fair, which is now also joining the MUNI DAY.
