For easier access to all the Masaryk University sites open for the Researcher’s Night, there will be a special free bus line.

What does a biological attack look like or how can you be your own bodyguard? These are some of the things that visitors can learn at the Researchers´ Night at Masaryk University (MU) on 30 September from 6 p.m. This will be the tenth time the university participates in this Europe-wide event where the public can learn about modern science and meet the researchers behind it. This year, the Ceitec research institute at the Bohunice campus as well as the Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Social Studies will join the event for the first time and open their premises to visitors.

Visitors will also be welcome at the traditional sites at the Faculty of Science on Kotlářská street, Faculty of Informatics on Botanická street, and at the Mendel Museum.

“The main topic of this year’s Researchers´Night that will run through all the programmes is safety and security. We would like to show people that this topic concerns a wide variety of activities from working with chemicals to the internet,” says Lenka Jaskowiecová, the MU coordinator of the event.

At the Faculty of Social Studies and the Faculty of Arts, visitors can learn how to navigate the internet or what the risks posed by online applications are. IT specialists will let them peek behind the curtain of current cybercrime and cybersecurity research. The yard of the Mendel Museum will become the site of (un)safe experiments performed by the VIDA! Science Centre. And on the university campus, food safety will be one of the topics up for discussion.

For easier access to all the Masaryk University sites open for the Researchers´Night, there will be a special free bus line.

For more details about the programme and other information contact the coordinator of the event.
