At the end of November, the 14th National Career Counselling Award ceremony was held in Prague. The Czech Euroguidance Centre, the National Institute of Education of the Czech Republic, awarded examples of good practice in career guidance. The expert jury awarded the main prize to four projects and special recognition to two projects. The winners were announced at a European conference attended by Czech and international experts in the field of career guidance and education.

The Career Centre of Masaryk University presented to conference attendees the new career counselling service for Ukrainian refugees, which was quickly established in response to the war in Ukraine. This service was designed by Career Centre staff in collaboration and Sofia Berezka, a Ukrainian psychologist, who, like Ukrainian students coming to MU, was forced to leave home. The primary goal of the service is to support incoming Ukrainian students adapt to their new environment, to prepare them for studying at Masaryk University, and to provide them with professional development opportunities. As of June 2022, 320 students have used this service.

Organizations and individuals that win a National Career Counselling Award receive funding to participate in educational events, go on study visits, and acquire professional publications and methodological tools. All 21 entries submitted for consideration contributed to the development of career counselling by sharing their experience and will be published in the annual proceedings of the national awards.
