“Students should be assured that there is someone at the university who will hear any matter they bring forward. It is important that I provide effective assistance to benefit everyone,” said Eva Janovičová. She will assume the office of the MU Ombuds on 1 April. She will first get acquainted with the organisational structure of MU, the management of its faculties, contact persons, internal directives and regulations. In addition to dealing with crises, she will also focus on prevention, awareness-raising, academic integrity and the work of the ethics committee. Ms Janovičová will simultaneously become the head of the newly established MU Rights Protection Department.
“We are happy that this long process taking place over several months has finally concluded. Until now, we have handled rights protection through review, mediation, advisory bodies and authorities within the university, including specialised units for specific types of complaints. These processes have now been integrated into a new system of rights protection, unified and given institutional support in the person of the Ombuds,” said MU Rector Martin Bareš.
