MUNI RUN – registrations for campus run are open!

On Wednesday, 15 May, the first year of the MUNI RUN will take place on the university campus in Bohunice. Participation is open to the general public – adults, children, students and MU employees. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the MUNI HELPS Volunteer Centre.

Whether you are an experienced runner or a beginner, you have a unique opportunity to take a run through the beautiful campus, around the Faculty of Sports Studies, the Faculty of Science, CEITEC and the pavilions of the Faculty of Medicine. Masaryk University has prepared a running race for adults with a distance of 4,800 metres. Don’t worry; your time or ranking is not important, and you can run at your own pace. If you decide to bring younger runners, you can choose from three circuits – 105, 210 and 500 metres - depending on their age.

“MUNI RUN is a unique opportunity to celebrate the 105th anniversary of Masaryk University; to clear your head at the end of the semester and before the start of the exam period; to do something for your health – physical and mental; to release endorphins; to connect the university community with the outside world and friends of the university, across generations; to help support the MUNI HELPS Volunteer Centre. Because MUNI likes to HELP,” said MU Vice-Rector Petr Suchý, who promised to take part in the race.

The Dean of the Faculty of Sports Studies, Jan Cacek, also confirmed his participation. “I’ll be there, so why not you? You will experience an amazing sporting atmosphere and support Masaryk University at the same time,” he said.

On the day of the race, there will be an attendance check from 3 pm, with the children's categories starting at 4 pm and the adults starting at 4.30 pm. Pre-race warm-up and activities during the race will be provided by members of the Creative Students' Group (FUKS).
